Episode 1
US-born Max is at the heart of British politics and power, owner of a media empire that includes newspapers and television stations. His aristocratic ex-wife Kathryn has been frozen out of the family and spends her days working at a homeless shelter.
Their son, Caden, is at the heart of Max's operation, editing broadsheet newspaper The National Reporter - but he's out of his depth and the strain is showing.
When Caden suffers a catastrophic breakdown, the fragmented family is pulled back together.

Episode 2
With their son fighting for his life in the hospital, the story of Max and Kathryn's relationship and their battles for control over the future of their son are revealed.

Episode 3
Kathryn dedicates herself to Caden's recovery, while Max grapples with the ramifications of his son's physical and mental changes.

Episode 4
With no prospect of returning to the role he'd spent his life being groomed for, Caden has nothing to live for. He spirals downwards until his equally unhinged companion Orla makes a potentially devastating suggestion.
Kathryn reconnects with the volatile Scott, with whom she'd established an intense connection at the homeless shelter. Max weighs the political candidates as the general election looms - but has his judgement been impaired by his son's illness?
When Kathryn learns some of Max's dark secrets, she too has a fateful decision to make.

Episode 5
Kathryn, Max and Caden gather at a remote rural house to delve into personal and political revelations. Will the family fight take the world stage?

Episode 6
Having chosen their sides, everyone digs themselves in for the impending war. Caden finds Orla to warn her that she may be caught in the crossfire - her secrets deployed as ammunition against Caden. Kathryn and Caden meet with journalists to get Caden's story on record - an expose of the practices at Max's newspapers. Max conducts a root-and-branch reform of his newspapers, but how will he deal with the threat posed by Kathryn and Caden?

Episode 7
Max is under the spotlight as a nation stands on the brink. Kathryn must decide whether to make a huge sacrifice for the sake of exposing the truth and destroying Max's empire.

Episode 8
As the general election looms, Kathryn considers an offer that could change everything.
And where will the nation find itself after the most divisive of election campaigns?

However, no matter how far Jo finds herself from her old life, her mission remains the same, to keep her son alive.

Irish Blood
Irish Blood focuses on Fiona, whose path in life is earmarked by her father, Declan, who seemingly abandoned her and her mother on her tenth birthday. After years of channelling anger toward him, to the benefit of her litigious clients, a message from her father sends her to Ireland. There she learns key truths about her father as well as a family that doesn't know she exists, and, moreover, that the story of abandonment that has shaped her entire life - was a lie. A lie intended to protect her and her mother from her father's shady business dealings. Fiona resolves to uncover the full truth about her father and reconnect with the parent she only thought she knew.
