Episodes

Titanic Train Trek
In late 2012, a team of engineers attempts to move two historic locomotives across the Atlantic to the British National Railway Museum in York, United Kingdom. They are two of the six remaining A4-class steam engines: the Dwight D. Eisenhowser from the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, Wisconsin and the Dominion of Canada from the Canadian Railway Museum in Montreal, Canada. Three other A-4s are also moved (not part of this episode) to join the Mallard at the British Nationial Railroad Museum for 2013 celebrations of the 75th anniversary of Mallard breaking the world speed record for steam. On July 3, 1938, the Mallard reached 126 mph.

Big Bomber
A team of British engineers attempts to move an historic Canberra jet bomber over 400km from Coventry to Newquay in Cornwall for a private collector. The vintage aircraft needs to be restored before it can fly again and so must travel by truck half way across England. Too large to be moved in one piece, this film follows the team attempt to dismantle the Canberra into many pieces for its treacherous road trip. The job proves to be a huge challenge, as the aircraft must remain airworthy after it has been re-assembled. To fit the bomber onto a convoy of trucks, the team must disconnect the fuselage, wings and tail. They must build a support cradle for each component so they don't knock or roll about on route while also being able to squeeze through narrow roads and low obstacles on the way. The journey is fraught with problems from rainstorms to traffic-jammed roads. Following a painstaking reconstruction process in Newquay, will this classic aircraft survive the journey to fly again?

Gigantic Gun
An expert team of heavy haulers attempts to transport a massive World War One artillery gun 400 miles from the Royal Artillery in Wiltshire to a museum in Utrecht, Holland. The rare 200-ton gun was designed to be moved around the Western Front on rail lines. But for this move the team has no option but to travel by road and sea. They must battle to separate the huge cast iron barrel from its railway carriage, and load both huge sections for an epic truck trip across southern England. A treacherous North Sea voyage awaits, followed by the daunting task of re-assembling the monster gun in Holland – if it fits into the exhibition hall that is. Time is tight – there's no room for delay. Will the team get this antique army relic in place for its grand public unveiling?

Huge Helicopter
The Sikorsky S-92 is the ultimate search and rescue helicopter, a high-tech, all-weather machine. The Shetland Coastguard is eagerly awaiting the arrival of one but it's still at the Sikorsky Aircraft factory in Coatesville, Pennsylvania 3,500 miles away. That's too far for a chopper to fly alone, so it's going to need an escort. Enter the Antonov 124, a Cold War warrior with record-breaking cargo capabilities. Antonov is big, but so is the Sikorsky S-92, an eight-ton beast. Can a team of engineers squeeze this $30 million aircraft in and get her to the Shetlands unscathed?

Floating Fortresses
A team of engineers attempts to build and haul a titanic town of brand new floating homes 70 miles across the Netherlands. Wim Jelsma and Carin Koning is a couple on a mission to build and move their ultimate dream home - one of seven floating mansions that will become a new waterborne community in the Netherlands. This film follows a team of engineers build and move the aquatic homes across 70 miles of treacherous Dutch waterways and through a mile of narrow country roads. Before they can set sail, they first need to be built. Great care must go into pouring the large concrete foundations as a single crack or imperfection could sink them before they get chance to float. Only after the luxurious upper floors are attached to the foundations, can they then call on the experience of tug boat captain, Peter Bokschoten. Captain Peter has the responsibility of towing all seven properties across the Netherlands; dodging dangerous ice flows and avoiding titanic tanker collisions. His final challenge is to guide them all into precarious-looking crane slings – where they will be hoisted onto trucks for a mile of cross country hauling, before being craned into their idyllic lake destination. Will Wim and Carin's dream home make it to the lake without being smashed, sunk or lost out to sea?

Huge Hovercraft
A team of engineers attempts to build and haul a massive, brand new Search & Rescue Hovercraft 5,000 miles from Southampton to Vancouver in Canada. The Vancouver branch of the Canadian Coastguard deals with hundreds of emergencies every year along the western coastline. They desperately need a new type of all-terrain vehicle to cope with ever increasing call outs. Engineers in Southampton, England have the answer. Griffon Hoverworks are at the forefront of Hovercraft design and have struck a million dollar deal with the coastguard to supply them with one of their biggest ever - the AP1-88. Now all they need to do is get it there – which proves to be an epic endeavour. This film follows the team put the craft through a series of rigorous sea trials followed by a dangerous crossing of a turbulent English Channel to the Netherlands where it will be craned onto an ocean going vessel for its 5000 mile sea voyage long. Will the craft arrive in time to start saving lives?
