Meanwhile, Mr. Gurney is desperately seeking a competent chess player to represent Jefferson Junior High School in a local match against its arch rival. Thrilled to learn that Mr. Peepers is the Tri-State Chess Champion, Gurney insists that Peepers play in the tournament, despite his previous commitment to deliver a lecture to Mrs. Gurney's Wildflower group. However, his exercise program may prevent Peepers from doing either.
