Since it's inception in 1952, the Miss Universe Pageant has given the world's most beautiful women from more than 80 countries something to vie for. Usually held in a different city each year, the live event spotlights contestants' performances in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown, and interview. Along with the coveted title, one lucky winner wins a contract with the Miss Universe Organization and the use of an apartment in the Trump Tower in New York City. For one year Miss Universe travels the world to raise awareness of AIDS, stress the importance of disease control, and spread a general message of peace. The 64th Annual Miss Universe Pageant will air this year on FOX TV on Sunday, 20 December 2015.

The winning star gets $50,000 for charity and bragging rights for his or her mentor. Not all of the celebrities will make the cut, however; after an opening potluck dinner each mentor selects three recruits to be on her team, leaving one celebrity to be sent home before the competition really begins. Burrell is looking to extend her record to 5-2, while Ray looks to get the win in her first season.
