The episode opens with Mary, George, and Loretta walking into the police station. They start asking about Heather and her wherabouts. George starts to panic because all the police could do is send out on APB. Mary tells Sgt. Foley about Tom disappearing also. Mary starts going on and on about how Tom was upset the morning before. Sgt. Foley starts to ask about what Tom was mad about. Loretta tells George about the song about Mary's problem. Loretta and George leave. George yells the familiar ""Mary Hartman! Mary Hartman!."" She keeps babbling to Sgt. Foley about all kinds of things. They leave. At Mae Olinski's place, we see a half naked Tom and a half naked Mae in bedkissing and hugging. They start talking about the wonderful time they had the night before. Tom starts to think about Mary. Mae tells him not to feel so guilty. Mae turns on the radio, and as soon as Tom hears about Heather's disappearance, he gets out of bed and runs out. At the Hartman kitchen, Mary is ironing while chatt
