A man is found shot and dying at a church ruin. It appears to be gang crime, but there is no motive and the weapon is gone. Maria and her team are looking for evidence that the murder is connected to a known criminal on the island.

Maria tries to help the young mother Fanny get out of her relationship with the suspect, while hoping that Fanny can help solve the case. The situation escalates and Maria is forced to take great personal risks.

The midsummer celebration at the campsite is abruptly interrupted when one of the summer guests is found murdered. Suspicion immediately falls on the aberrant mysterious young man. At the same time, Sebastian is called for questioning by the police's internal investigations.

Maria and Sebastian struggle with communication. At the same time, Maria digs further into what turns out to be a complicated relationship drama. Friends now turn out to be bitter enemies and the previously idyllic surface is a thing of the past.
