A lifeless teenager is fished out of the sea off Gotland and it is discovered that he has escaped from a youth home on the island. Shortly afterwards, another teenager disappears. Maria presses the young people in the youth home in the hope of an answer, something that strikes back at her. Sebastian is worried about Maria and their future when she secretly seeks foreign service. Maria tries to calm his worries - at the same time as she still has the longing for something bigger in life.
