A tour of the popular Mediterranean country, beginning with a look round a cathedral in the capital, Valletta, gleaming with 24-carat gold. There's also a trip to Malta's rural heartland, and a dive deep into the islands' azure waters with Mancunian scuba instructor, Neville McLellan. He discovers the area's Second World War history.
Episode 2
Cameras explore Malta's ancient olive groves, where the annual harvest is underway. They also venture inside one of the country's grandest stately homes to find out what it takes to host a VIP event in the Versailles-inspired ballroom. Plus, the remarkable survival story of Malta's beautiful church of Mosta.
Episode 3
This episode features a spin round the track at the Malta Classic Grand Prix. The country is also the perfect environment for sea turtles, which are protected by a local charity. Cameras focus on three injured turtles who are released back into the wild from one of Malta's most beautiful beaches. Plus a look at fishing life, and a trip to Malta's little sister island, Gozo.
Episode 4
Cameras focus on Malta's most skilful boat pilots as they navigate the challenging Grand Harbour - an operation with incredible risk. We visit the English pub that's dedicated to the British Navy, and where actor Oliver Reed ordered his last round. There's also a look at one of Malta's most luxurious hotels.
