This week, Alan heads to Fareham to surprise 90-year-old Betty Hicks, a fearless life-long volunteer and fundraiser. Betty's garden is a green-free concrete box with so many trip hazards that it's totally off-limits to Betty. The team set about transforming it into a safe and sensory haven for her.

Newark, Nathan
Alan Titchmarsh makes over a garden in Newark for double amputee veteran Nathan Cumberland and his young family. Despite his injuries, Nathan has devoted his life outside the armed forces to supporting older and elderly veterans who are often less likely to seek help for themselves. With lots of tips on how to create a beautiful woodland themed outdoor space, Alan and his team of experts take on Nathan's inaccessible plot and transform it into a show-stopping family garden.

Basildon, Pat
Alan Titchmarsh heads to Essex to surprise retired nurse Pat Wade - who set up a charity for young burn survivors - The Children's Burns Club. The club organises events for children with burn scarring and their families. Since the charity began in 1995, summer camps and outings have become a vital part of young people's recovery. As a thank you from the many children Pat has helped over the years, Alan and his team turn Pat's tiny concrete backyard into a glamorous outdoor entertaining space.

Preston, Roisin
Alan Titchmarsh heads to Preston in Lancashire to surprise a young family facing an uncertain future. With the support of fiance Michael Brown, mum to Ivy, Roisin Pelan is facing stage 3C cancer. Despite enduring challenging treatment, Roisin has raised thousands for cancer charities and is determined to see her young daughter grow up. Alan and his team of experts turn Roisin's dangerous sloping garden into a stunning music festival-inspired haven.

Cardiff, Irene
Alan Titchmarsh's makeover bandwagon arrives in Cardiff to create a pretty but practical garden for dedicated fundraiser Irene Hicks. As well as regular bingo events, Irene has set up a virtual charity shop in her own home to raise money for her local Breast Cancer Unit. In just three years, she has raised over 75,000 pounds and is heading towards a target of 100,000 pounds.

Nottingham, Fiona
In this episode, Alan Titchmarsh heads to Nottingham and gets the best reaction ever when he surprises young foster parent and mother of two Fiona Kirlew. Despite only being 36, Fiona has fostered over 40 teenage children and keeps in touch with all of them. Alan and the team turn this bubbly super-mum's dismal paved-over yard into a lush Caribbean haven that evokes her father's garden in Jamaica.

Yorkshire Dales, Jim
Alan Titchmarsh returns to his own childhood playground this week as he heads to the stunning Yorkshire Dales to surprise grandfather Jim Thompson (65). Despite Jim's own terminal diagnosis - his commitment to spreading awareness and raising money for Prostate Cancer Charities are legendary in the area. His most attention-grabbing stunt involved him and 22 of his male friends stripping off to create their own 'Calendar Girls' style naked Calendar.

East London, Cariazo Family
The garden make-over team are in bustling Hackney, East London this week as Alan Titchmarsh surprises the Cariazo family.
Nurses Jeroume and Onessa are the utterly devoted parents of nine year old Elijah. The wheelchair-bound only child suffers from Myotubular Myopathy, a rare genetic condition that weakens the muscles to such a degree that even breathing and swallowing are a constant challenge.
