Ida Grayson meets with a chilly reception from the townsfolk of Curtis Wells, who can't get past the color of her skin.

Down Come Rain
Ida's husband Aaron is killed by Indians, whom Newt ends up fighting as well, when he comes across them before they have left the scene. Newt continues his courtship of Hannah while Clay, still grieving over his lost Mary, also desires to have her.

When Wilt Thou Blow
Josiah gives his permission for Newt and Hannah to marry, but their wedding is interrupted when Mosby and his gang rob the bank. Also, Ida buys the hotel with Newt's help, and renames it the Lonesome Dove.

Wild Horses
While delivering a horse to the livery stable, Newt comes across a couple lying murdered in their barnyard. He and Hannah take in their young son, who hid in the chicken coop and witnessed the entire thing, and is so traumatized that he cannot speak.

Judgement Day
Newt tries to seek justice for the murder of an Indian who saved his life. Meanwhile Clay's friend Robert is on the wrong side of a "Hanging Judge" when he is accused of the bank robbery and murder of the bank manager.

Duty Bound
Needing money to complete work on the cabin, Newt hires on as a scout for the Army, little knowing that his assignment will be tracking down deserters.

Long Shot
Clay and Newt go after a group of whiskey traders, each with their own reasons. Meanwhile, Ida takes in the girlfriend of the gangs' driver, a man who just joined but wants out.

Last Stand
Newt and Buffalo Bill team up to find the legendary Indian Chief, Iron Bow, when he goes leaves without permission from reserve land.

Ballad of a Gunfighter
A dispute over a woman pits Austin against a disgruntled cowboy who turns out to be a famous gunfighter, Vern Parker.

Where the Heart Is
The town pools their money to buy a herd of cattle to sell for a profit. Newt leads the drive along with Austin and several other townspeople, as well as one of Newt's old friends. Also, Clay's old friend Olivia comes to town... an attractive woman who catches Josiah's eye.

Firebrand
When Newt and Hannah lose control of their new stallion Firebrand, he is stopped by John Lawson, a homesteader traveling with his wife to Oregon City.

High Lonesome
During a visit to Sweetwater, Austin kills a man in self defense, after an argument over a woman. The man's fellow gang members seek revenge.

Law and Order
When men attempting to purchase their land threaten Newt and Hannah, Newt turns to Curtis Wells' newest citizen, Sheriff Kearney, for help.

The Road Home
Newt catches a ride on a stagecoach, and is left stranded when attacked by Crow braves.

Blood Money
When Hannah's former sweetheart, an ex-con, comes to town, circumstances convince Newt that the town's temporary sheriff shouldn't be trusted.

Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show
Newt and Hannah head to the big city to catch Buffalo Bill's Wild West show and when someone can't perform, Hannah steps in.

Traveller
A mysterious photographer comes to town, and Clay temporarily forgets about Hannah as he is drawn to her. Unfortunately, she's come to Curtis Wells as part of her final journey.

Rebellion
Newt trails horses to Sweetwater, only to find the deal he made with the livery no longer stands.

The List
Mountain man Curtis strikes gold near the town that bears his name and returns a rich man.

Ties That Bind
When Newt is presumed dead, Hannah turns to Mosby for comfort. Meanwhile, Newt's recently arrived father is determined to find his son alive.

Snowbound
Curtis Wells is cut off from the rest of the world until the snow clears in the passes. Newt and Kearney rescue a group of miners lost in the mountains and near frozen to death.
