Совершив ограбление, Фартовый сталкивается с Якутом и Рашпилем, которые решают разобраться с ним против воли Чалого. Фартовый жестоко избивает бандитов, но оставляет их в живых. Он торопится в Москву. Козырев и Баженин понимают, что Фартовый не собирается возвращать икону Кабулову, рассчитывающему на личное обогащение, и, вероятно, решил продать икону и скрыться. Навестив Гонту, оперативники получают от него наводку на скупщика краденного Гойхмана. В Москве они встречаются с Груниным, который узнает по своим каналам, что Фартовый был у Гойхмана, показал ему товар и теперь должен прийти за деньгами. Проснувшись утром, Сережа радуется своему выздоровлению - теперь он может стоять на ногах.
