In 1993, Joe has a lot on his plate. Russ Adler has a couple of tidbits he wants Joe to tell Josh: first, that he's shutting down Josh's townhouse rehab project, and second, Beth has to sign a pre-nuptual agreement before she can marry Josh. Joe draws the line at the pre-nup, and tells Russ that he is going to have to talk to Josh himself. Russ concedes. Feeling good about his relationship with Russ Adler, Joe decides to take a major career risk and goes to Paul Fishelson, senior partner at the law firm, to leverage his relationship with Russ into a partnership at the firm. Fishelson tells him that he has to take such a proposal to the partners' council and will have to get back to him. In the midst of all this, Joe discovers Carlito drunk at the office. He's already nervous because he's got so much on the line, he doesn't need Carlito around to mess things up any further. Joe sends Carlito home. When Joe goes home to check up on Carlito later that day, he finds him in the shed of his
