1993: Joe Rivera solves an environmental lawsuit and one of his superiors, Andersen takes credit for it. When hanging out with Josh, Beth, Gregory, and Athena, he runs into his brother, Carlito. Joe discovers that Carlito weighs in on Joe's situation with Andersen. Josh continues to try and have sex with Beth but ends up partying instead. 2001: Joe ends up staying at the office (even after promising Beth they would both go to Millbrook to look at new houses) because of new developments in the Edgar Brackett murder case. When Joe comes home, he discovered that Beth has bought a home in Millbrook without him. 2008: Frannie Batista, Joe's campaign manager, talks Josh into letting Joe hold a fund raiser at the Josh's restaurant. (Even though Joe and Josh's friendship is rocky). Josh's attention isn't focused on Frannie, however, because he's got another problem that needs attention. Josh confronts Janine, his pastry chef, about her flirting with him.
