Börü's act of taking Rakif's life eases tensions between Saladin and Nureddin. Sayra vows revenge on Börü for her father's death and starts by killing Nizar and aligning his Bedouins with her cause. Yaver Riza incites the Egyptians against Şemse, who, overwhelmed by the pressure, decides to leave Cairo. Saladin, while preparing for a move against the Crusaders, is also on the verge of making a significant decision regarding Şemse. The events at the wedding greatly impact the Crusaders. Chatillon goes mad upon learning a terrible truth about Mila, who seeks refuge with Saladin. Amalrik aims to protect his alliance with Byzantium by assigning the Count of Ibelin. Balian devises a clever plan that might damage his friendship with Saladin. Meanwhile, Amalrik decides that Lord Guy and Sibylla should marry, leaving Sibylla to choose between her father's wishes and her love for Balian.
