De afgelopen weken lieten psychiaters in Kijken in de Ziel hun licht schijnen over de menselijke geest. Maar wie zijn ze zelf? Zijn ze ooit aan hun vak begonnen om iets in zichzelf te helen? Hoe komt het dat het suïcidecijfer onder psychiaters onevenredig hoog is? In de slotaflevering praten ze openhartig over hun eigen zwakke punten en gektes. Eén van hen vertelt dat hij zelf jarenlang aan pseudologica fantastica leed –hij verzon onder meer een verzetsverleden- terwijl hij ondertussen gewoon patiënten behandelde die aan dwangmatig liegen leden. Anderen bekennen dat ze ooit hebben gespeeld met de gedachte om er een einde aan te maken. En wat had de psychiater aan zijn vak toen hij zelf opeens ernstig ziek werd?
