Ignat, a professional welder, is fired from the factory. His wife Marina loses all her family savings in a financial pyramid scheme. Stepson Sanya offers Ignat to participate in an esports tournament with a prize fund of two million rubles. But Ignat has never played computer shooting games.

Training in a computer club for fifty-year-old Ignat becomes a lot of stress. He gets to know the Piranha team: Eric, Lev and Rustam. Teenagers meet the new player with interest and some skepticism. Meanwhile, Marina, on the advice of her friend, goes to psychological training, where she finds out that Ignat is the source of her stress. There is growing understatement between the spouses.

Ignat gets to know his stepson more and more, they spend time together more often. He hears about Sani's problems with her studies. Sanya announces to his parents about his decision not to go to university because of problems with his studies. Ignat proves to his stepson by personal example that there are no unsolvable problems.

Lev gets into trouble - he got involved with drug dealers. Ignat teaches the boys what true friendship is. They need to protect their friend from very real bullies.

Marina decides to "return the money she lost in the pyramid" and is going to work in Kamchatka. Rustam is forbidden by his father to participate in the tournament. Ignat has to solve these two problems.

Team leader Eric is not in touch. In his search, the guys get into a house full of people with guns. It turns out that Eric is not who he claims to be.

The parents notice that Sanya is behaving strangely. He borrows money from his mother, friends, sold a video card and even got into his sister's piggy bank. Marina suspects her son of being addicted to drugs.

Ignat is making progress in a computer game. The team is looking forward to the first game of the tournament, which is already this evening. But Ignat is being restored at the factory and is urgently called to the night shift.

There is a choice between the tournament and work.

During the game, the lights are turned off in the computer club. Ignat needs to find a computer to continue the game, he goes to the factory, to the boss's office, where there is a single modern computer.

Ignat begins to get conceited from sudden fame. He quarrels with the boys and colleagues at the factory. Marina also sees changes in her husband and thinks that he has a mistress.

Marina gets a job at the factory as a cook to find out who Ignat's mistress is. The rivals in the tournament have conceived something unkind and offer the "Piranhas" to play a training game. Ignat and Eric agree.

Piranhas" are being hacked during a tournament game. They're losing the fight. The team is eliminated from the tournament. Ignat, returning home, finds Marina in the arms of Roman's ex-husband.

The guys manage to recover in the tournament. They come together at the old country house to train and play together. It turns out that without parental supervision, a team of teenagers cannot establish a way of life, even Ignat cannot organize teenagers. Ignat decides to call for help from an unexpected ally.

Marina brings order and comfort to the cottage. During the semifinal game, a lightning strike breaks the wires. The team has 20 minutes to restore the Internet connection. Welder skills and teamwork help the guys overcome these difficulties.
