While navigating mental health issues, a rocky relationship, and a volatile family... Zelma surprises everyone when she wins a judicial seat at the ripe age of 31. However, once she achieves this goal, she must fight her inner demons whilst managing the chaos of the court system.

A dispute over a light comes to a deadly end. Something unexpected shakes the entire courthouse, rattling Jay to the core. Larry continues plotting his revenge as Judge Spangler shows her softer side. Jay finds herself in the crosshairs of a stalker.

Sisters attack a teacher. Jay wakes to the reality of what she did the night before. Clerks gossip about Spangler's love life, as Jay handles the brawling siblings. Yvonne begs Daryl to be more supportive of Jay.

A man attacks a young girl. Jay wakes to find herself in serious trouble. Court personnel try to locate Jay while she fights to outwit her assailant. Daryl struggles to reach Jay as the police close in.
