Episode 1
In the opening episode the intense heat of a house fire pushes multiple crews to the limit as they battle an entire roof on fire, collapsing ceilings and dangerous pets. While Birmingham has its Gay Pride Parade under heavy security only days after the Manchester Arena suicide bombing, crews are called to an explosive incident only a few miles from the city centre which could realise everyone's worst fears.
In West Bromwich a watch has a shift which spans everything from a house fire in a drugs den to animal rescues - and the fire services specialist Technical Rescue Unit is called out to a car which has smashed into a sleeping family's living room - putting the whole house at risk of collapse.

Episode 2
Grenfell, the worst fire in living memory, shocked the firefighting community across the West Midlands, but only two weeks later - as tensions about tower blocks run high across the country - firefighters tackle a high-rise blaze in central Birmingham. Sheldon White Watch responds to the incident, where residents run down the stairwells as smoke is seen coming from the sixth floor.
Elsewhere in the city, fire safety officer Mia Temple is out reassuring residents of other tower blocks that they are safe. Mia conducts safety tests to calm the nerves of some elderly residents. Meanwhile, Highgate Red Watch is on nightshift when it's called out – the team has to use brains and brawn to save a man's leg trapped by 10 tonnes of double decker bus.

Episode 3
All West Midlands fire crews work and train together as a team – constantly sharpening their rescue skills to combat fires and accidents on the road. But nothing can prepare Bloxwich firefighters when they're called out to a fire on a notorious area of waste ground and find themselves in a tense stand-off with a gang burning copper cables. As the situation turns nasty, they capture everything on their helmet cameras.
Meanwhile, Coventry commuters have an early morning journey they'll never forget – after their bus ploughs into the front of a house at a busy roundabout during rush hour. When the early morning 999 call comes in, Coventry White Watch reach an unusual collision in minutes to rescue the trapped driver.
Northfield Blue Watch are on a late-night call, mobilised to a crash site where two cars have been involved in a high-speed collision. The occupants of one car are still at the scene while the other party have fled. And, when a flat goes up in flames from some laundry that's caught alight, Highgate Red Watch face the challenge of getting Arley the Staffie to safety.

Episode 4
When Highgate Red Watch is sent to a blazing house where a three-year-old is reportedly trapped inside, the team knows they have to act swiftly - a young life is at stake.
Highgate Red Watch's Joe and George hone their car crash rescue skills in preparation for a national competition, putting their road rescue expertise to the test.
While training as part of the team, Highgate Red Crew Commander Joe Poynton faces a heart stopping moment when his sister is caught up in an actual Road Traffic Collision. Unable to help, as he is off duty, Joe watches from the side-lines as firefighters from Walsall Green Watch work to save his sister.
Finally, Sheldon White Watch takes an unusual approach to the classic animal conundrum – how to get a cat out of a tree.

Episode 5
When Highgate Red Watch is sent to a blazing house where a three-year-old is reportedly trapped inside, they know they have to act swiftly - a young life is at stake. Highgate Red Watch's Joe and George hone their car crash rescue skills in preparation for a national competition putting their road rescue expertise to the test.

Episode 6
Without the calm advice and organisational skills of the women and men who answer the 999 emergency calls, lives can hang in the balance. This episode explores the fire control team at work as they assist a terrified family with young children trapped on the second floor of their home by fire. Sheldon White Watch are mobilised to a busy traffic junction where a head on smash between two vans leaves one driver trapped in his cab. Northfields Blue Watch confront every fire fighters worst fear, a lethal build-up of smoke that can turn into a backdraft.

Episode 7
In this episode, Hay Mills Green Watch is called to rescue a young mum trapped in the wreckage of her car. Firefighters swiftly help Aisha who has collapsed at the wheel of her car, spun across six lanes of a dual carriageway and smashed against metal railings in the central reservation. As firefighters urgently try to free her from the wreckage, her vital signs are not good and she floats in and out of consciousness. Meanwhile, Blue Watch is called to a vicious electrical manhole fire that threatens the cable and pipes beneath a busy road. The team must also rescue an upset toddler who's trapped herself in a bathroom. And one family get an important lesson about the awesome power of fire, as a minor blaze wrecks their home.

Episode 8
In this episode, the fire crew from Sheldon station attack a fierce house blaze to stop it spreading to neighbouring properties. Elsewhere, fire investigation dogs are on the trail of a potential fire starter who may have torched an industrial unit. Blue Watch use cutting gear to rescue an injured man trapped in a car crashed into a lamppost. Injured and in pain he needs to be carefully freed from the mangled wreckage as his wife looks on.

Episode 9
West Midlands Fire Service extinguish up to 10,000 fires a year. This special episode looks back at some of the most incredible moments from across the series captured by the firefighters' heat-resistant helmet cameras.
Firefighters from Billesey Red Watch risk their lives and head into the heart of a blazing house fire which tests their training to the limit. With parts of the house collapsing around them, it is a race against time to get the fire under control. When the crew also discover a snake downstairs that needs their help, they learn that every call-out can bring new challenges.
Bloxwich White Watch find themselves in a tense stand-off and in need of police back-up after encountering a gang who try to stop them from putting out fires on a wasteland.
Elsewhere Erdington Green Watch race to a burning house with people reported trapped inside. They arrive to find a casualty on the ground in front of the house and must head straight into the fire to search for others who could still be inside.
Finally Highgate Red Watch respond to the type of emergency they fear the most when a distraught mother calls 999, asking for help to rescue her three-year-old daughter trapped in her bedroom by a fire.
