Inside Greggs: 24/7 - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

Episode 1
Grace grabs her hairnet and heads out to a vast Greggs pizza centre. The minus 20-degree freezer renders her speechless but she's soon warms up in the cabin of a vast truck delivering pizzas to Greggs shops across the south of England. Grace also hears about a secret Greggs store that is even cheaper than a regular shop – it's a Greggs outlet and they sell anything left over from the main stores including delicious caramel ‘droppy down bits'.
In a bit to understand a bit more about the phenomenon of Greggs, Grace goes back to Gosforth on the outskirts of Newcastle, where the story began, tracking down the location of the first-ever shop which has since become a travel agent.
Distracted by booking a holiday to Mauritius she soon gets back on the Greggs trail and discovers that the company's CEO and Finance Director know everything there is to know about this ground-breaking bakery brand. In a final bid to uncover the reasons for Greggs success she takes Greggs virgin, Francis Rossi, to discover the baked classics for himself.

Episode 2
In the second episode, Grace is given exclusive access to Greggs' secret innovation centre at their HQ in Newcastle, getting a sneak preview of their new product ranges and let loose on some muffin making which has the potential to go horribly wrong when Grace takes charge of piping the jam.
But what of the future of Greggs? Grace meets DJ and star of Celebrity Gogglebox Woody Cook as they test out the Primark/Greggs collaboration, the Tasty Café. What do millennials think of a brand that even manages to sell out a range of Greggs clothes and has somehow become cool?
One item that really transformed the bakery giant's fortunes was the vegan sausage roll – a surprising hit that's made them a fortune. Grace enjoys a novel trip through her first Greggs drive thru, and the company's CEO introduces her to hot yum yums – a revelation and the icing on the cake.
