Episode 1

Recently taken over by a new management team, Edinburgh Airport is undergoing major changes. Originally built to carry one million passengers annually, the airport now faces ten times as many during the busiest year in its history.

This two-part documentary follows those on the front line up to the Chief Executive as the airport adapts to a change in ownership and a major increase in passengers.

New boarding pass security scanners cause confusion when passengers believe face down means holding their face against the scanner, rather than their boarding pass. Management descend on the shop floor to help on the busiest day of the year as 40,000 passengers pass through the airport but things start to go wrong when the main baggage belt fails. This week's episode also sees Richard Branson launch Little Red as well as the arrival of BA's Dreamliner aircraft.

Episode 2

The biggest threat to aircraft engines is a bird strike. With over 300 flights passing through Edinburgh Airport each day, a flock of birds threatens to cause chaos.

The final episode of this two-part documentary follows those on the front line up to the Chief Executive as the airport carries out a full-scale emergency operation, later described as 'chaotic' by one police officer. Luckily it's just a reconstruction and Chief Executive Gordon Dewar is well equipped to iron out any problems, having been in charge at Glasgow airport during the terrorist strike in 2007.

As Japanese tourists descend on the airport, retailers hope for a boost to trade. However the cashmere scarves don't prove as
popular as hoped. This week's episode also sees British Airways launch their new Edinburgh lounge at a cost of £1.5million, the biggest investment the airline has made in Scotland.
