Ice Brigade - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

Magic Juice
Randy Finch and crew design the Midwest's first ice lounge at restaurant in Royal Oak, Mich., complete with a fully equipped bar, raw sushi station and pool table. Brigade members Jovonnah Nicholson and Susan Walters create a party favorite - a punch bowl for former Los Angeles Laker Magic Johnson's mom in celebration of her birthday, and Magic just can't get enough of the magic juice.

DJ Bronco
When the order for a DJ booth made of ice, complete with a playable spinning turntable, speakers and headphones, comes in, the Ice Brigade encounters a challenge that could shut the dance floor down. Randy Finch and crew display their country-western side by doing the near impossible: designing a bull for ladies' night at a local bar in Grand Rapids, Mich. Much to the chagrin of the Ice Brigade team, Randy wants the bull to be one the ladies can actually ride.

One Piano Key at a Time
The Ice Brigade explores their musical side and manages the impossible, by creating a working baby grand piano for the annual Art Hop in Kalamazoo, Mich. The key to making this sculpture a success lies in the sweet melody of the piano keys themselves. The Grand Rapids team then sculpts a hookah for a local hookah lounge and leaves the place in a cloud of sweet smelling smoke.

Han Solo, Polar Derby
An overabundance of scrap ice in the work freezer has Randy and crew taking their skills outdoors for some ice sledding. Then it's Star Wars night for the Muskegon Lumberjack's hockey team, and the sculpture on order for loyal fans attending the event is one based on Han Solo and a poignant scene from The Empire Strikes Back. With all that, the Ice Brigade still finds time to design an authentic air hockey table deemed a perfect fit for a kid's birthday party, with sound effects and all.

Let It Ride
The Ice Brigade tries their luck at making casino tables for Turtle Creek Casino in Traverse City, MI. The gaming setup consists of a craps, blackjack, and roulette table complete with poker chips and dice made out of ice. In Niles, MI, some lucky children get the ride of a lifetime on a carousel sculpted from ice at the annual Hunter Ice Festival.

Strike and a Hole in One
Chainsaws and pinball create the perfect marriage when Randy Finch and the Ice Brigade crew put their artistic skills to work and sculpt a pinball machine for Stella's Lounge. An ice festival in Rockford challenges the Grand Rapids crew to design a 'Rube Goldberg-inspired' putt-putt hole; golf has never been so chilly. A backyard bash turns into bowling when the Ice Brigade lights up the lanes with an ice-bowling alley.

Checkmate Me, I Prank You
Chess anyone? The Ice Brigade creates a chessboard for downtown Grand Rapids with life-size chess pieces designed to dazzle local chess masters. Then the crew helps someone prank a colleague by switching out regular office furniture and replacing it with ice furniture, what a chilly reception.
