Episode 1
A brand new series of the show in which Dr Xand van Tulleken and dietician Hala El-Shafie help members of the public tackle some of the most hyped weight-loss regimes on the scene. The dieters are divided into three time frames: Crashers try short term diets; Shape Shifters take on a six week programme; while Life Changers sign-on for four month dieting plans. CafÚ cook Stacie Stewart helps the volunteers to turn their diets into delicious dishes. In the first episode of the third series, Becky and Sheena from Devon have only two weeks to shape up for Sheena's hot tub party. Sheena tries the punishing Copenhagen diet, an ultra weight loss regime, while Becky tries the Special K challenge, mixing cereals and high fibre.

Episode 2
This week AK and Bethany have two weeks to slim down for an evening of speed dating; Gemma and Charlotte want to trim down for their school reunion in six weeks' time; and married couple Si and Simon want to shed the pounds for Manchester Pride in four months' time. Xand also investigates whether fat-melting injections are the easiest alternative to dieting and pushes his body to the limit to find out if our overnight weight fluctuations are just down to water.

Episode 3
This time, supermarket employee Rebecca and charity worker Alisha from London want to ditch their bikini bulges for a family holiday abroad. Gary and Connor want to look svelte for Gary's upcoming graduation, plus Elaine and Sue from Essex want to trim down for a work reunion in four months' time. Xand also investigates electro muscle stimulation for weight loss and tries to get rid of dangerous visceral fat clinging onto his organs.

Episode 4
This time, gym buddies Lucy and Sue want to get bikini ready for a spa day in two weeks. Best friends Fi and Sarah shape up for Sarah's birthday party. And part time actors Bharat and Atul purge the pounds for a Bollywood film dance routine. The diets tested this time are the carb lovers diet; the low carb diet; the wild diet; the blood sugar diet; and the highly-regarded dash diet. Xand also road tests the latest diet gadgets and finds out if our gut microbiome may hold the key to weight loss.

Episode 5
The diets being tested this time include Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop detox and the NHS weight loss plan. And a look at fitness gadgets and why alcohol is so harmful to our waistlines.
