House Crashers - Season 2

Season 2

Episodes

Metallic Tile Fireplace
With a little help from licensed contractor Josh Temple, Dave Grashoff's uninspired and outdated space is transformed into a sleek, modern family room complete with a media wall, metallic fireplace surround and built-in computer work space. Dust collecting niches get demoed to make space for accessible storage. A tired river-rock fireplace surround is replaced by shiny porcelain tiles and a boring wall becomes a media Mecca complete with cabinetry and a motorized TV lift.

Basket Weave Floor
A 1970s living room gets a major facelift! The floor is the main event in this room! They rip out the white carpet and weave together dark hardwood and metallic tiles to keep things interesting. Plus, the dated giant lava rock fireplace gets stripped down and replaced with glass tiles. Add in a soapstone bar, built in bookcase, glass doors and unique lighting and this young couple now has a grown up living room!

Photo Fusion Living Room
A photographer and graphic designer couple get an adult makeover that turns an empty living room into a chic adult space. The blank room becomes both a workspace and gallery complete with pocket doors and built in bookshelves, new bamboo flooring and a resin and bamboo hanging wall system. The squaring out of arches and building of a workspace wall create a sleek adult space that is sophisticated enough to live in and to entertain clients.

Kitchen Island Oasis
Homeowners Brian and Tamara Coulson have a big space, but it's blah and uninviting. Licensed contractor Josh Temple replaces white cabinets with sustainable bamboo topped with slick new countertops made out of reutilized mirror, porcelain, glass and stone. A wall is removed to make the space more cohesive and a kitchen island, with attached dining counter, is built. Finally, the floor is replaced with linoleum squares made from natural substances.

Industrial Concrete Kitchen
This young, hip couple's kitchen has grandma written all over it. This small kitchen gets a giant upgrade as everything is torn out to open this kitchen up into the living and dining room. Outdated cabinets and counter tops are replaced by dark custom cabinets and chunky sleek concrete becomes the counter's new surface. The team creates more counter space with a bar style island with a stainless cooktop and an industrial concrete surface. Plus, they tear out the old carpet and show these homeowners how to refinish existing hardwood floors! Exposed beams, new appliances and one-of-a-kind flooring give this kitchen a sleek industrial feel.

Elegant Entertaining Space
This underused room is a catch-all for toddler toys and hand-me-down furniture, but homeowners Katie and Matt Chisholm love to entertain and need an adult area for when friends stop by. Licensed contractor Josh Temple updates a wood-paneled wall and a brick fireplace with glass tile and an attached custom shelving unit. An entryway gains an "eyebrow" arch and more interest, and a plain wall is transformed with inset niches for wine bottle storage. Finally, a tasteful bar is built with remnant stone and reclaimed wood.

Sunroom Sanctuary
A young couple turns a semi-outdoor sunroom into a finished living space. The ramshackle room becomes a sunroom sanctuary complete with new framing and insulation, all new windows and door, a heating and air unit and a floating wood paneled media wall. The building of storage benches, a game table and the transformation of a former exterior wall turn the once unused toy room into an adult sunroom.

Metal Barn Wood Kitchen
House Crashers takes on Atlanta and remodels a 1930s kitchen. These hip homeowners, Dan Bush and Caroline Dieter, have a lot of style but their kitchen is lacking anything cool. Their tiny kitchen just isn't cutting it between the peeling linoleum floor, beat up cabinets, outdated appliances (or lack thereof) and limiting floor plan. Licensed contractor Josh Temple, along with his Atlanta team, kick down walls to create a more spacious modern yet rustic kitchen by combining sheet metal and reclaimed barn wood into a kitchen island. They also incorporate a slick resin backsplash, poured concrete floor and all new appliances.

Rustic Game Room
This Texas bonus room is a huge storage area, and it's dingy and dark. Homeowner William Emery, an aspiring singer, wants a game room and room to sing. Licensed contractor Josh Temple replaces four slim windows with a four-panel French door that leads out to a huge brand new deck, complete with stairs to access the backyard pool. The old, 70s-style wet bar is transformed into a sound proof vocal booth, and a new L-shaped bar is built and faced with corrugated metal. Original shag carpet is ripped out and hand-scraped hardwood floor is installed. Sleek, colorful ceiling planks incorporated with recessed lights are suspended over the pool table and bar.

Wine Tasting Room
Licensed contractor crashes the home office of Craig Wall. It's plain and boring and not used often. In addition, Craig enjoys wine and has bottles throughout the house, so he needs a space for wine storage and tasting. A standard sheetrock ceiling gets a major upgrade with wood planking and beams. An entry transom window is removed and an arch replaces the doorway. A closet is enlarged, insulated, refrigerated and installed with a modular wine rack system. Finally, stone is adhered to a wall and a wine tasting table is made from wine barrels.

Sports Bar Basement
Licensed contractor Josh Temple crashes Boston, giving sports fanatics, Chad and Candace Beecher, the "Man Town" basement of their dreams. Sports touches are added everywhere with a photo mural of Fenway Park, Astro-Turf going up the walls, a Green Monster-inspired scoreboard and a massive projector screen for watching the games. Top it off with a black granite bar with stadium-style lighting above and a custom-built poker table with a beer/liquor tap built right in.

Urban Boston Den
House Crashers crashes Boston and finds homeowner John Robinson, who just purchased his grandmother's outdated 1960s home. In fact, every room could use an update, but the den in this house is just screaming for one. From bright orange/red carpet, old knotty pine paneling and 1970s light figures, it was just one dark and dank den aching for a crash. To modernize this living space, licensed contractor Josh Temple, along with his Boston team, tackle every inch of the space transforming the den into an urban-living lounge complete with reclaimed hardwood floor ceiling treatment, metallic cork floors, hip bar niches and a recycled paper-slate-like wall with a brand new entertainment center. To really bring some light into this space, they add modern bi-folding doors to take a once dark den to a whole new level.

Martini Bar Basement
Chicago's Ashley and Brian Riordan have a rather ordinary finished basement, and a guestroom that is literally useless. What they need is a great place to entertain, but this space never really fits the bill. You see the problem is low hanging ductwork that stands out like a sore thumb. We're going to take this problem and turn it into a solution by moving the television under it and creating a stylish textured tile wall treatment around it. We'll add new cabinets and a hidden Murphy bed in addition to sleek new flooring and updated kitchenette. Then the crowning jewel will be the custom table with lighted storage.
