Episódio 1
A hotel near the coast, in the north of Portugal. It's morning and the family who manages it starts their day. Surprisingly, the matriarch, Sara, shows up with her granddaughter, Salomé, whose father just died.
Her arrival will expose the resentment of the life choices made by this family's women, and worsen the relationship between Sara and her daughter, Salomé's mother, Piedade.
The first clients arrive - the photographer Jaime and the influencer Camila - a couple in crises, between the insinuations of a close friend and the interferences of Jaime's mother.

Episódio 2
The young actress Júlia is surprised by her girlfriend Alice, who sent a video of her for a casting. Judite, Júlia's mother, sees her plans for the weekend and life threatened by the ulterior motives of her daughter's seductive girlfriend.
Salomé questions her mother, Piedade, about her absence and abandonment.
The couple Alexandre and Graça, and the recently widowed mother-in-law, Elisa, arrive at the hotel in the aftermath of the death of Graça's father.

Episódio 3
At dinner, Camila tells Jaime she wants to leave their house and live with another man.
Sara is accused by the family for the hotel's financial problems and its imminent bankruptcy.
Judite and Alice dispute between themselves Júlia's future choices.
Elisa pressures Graça to have children, to secure her marriage with Alexandre.
Sara confronts Piedade about her inabilty to be a mother.

Episódio 4
The growing complicity between Elisa and Alexandre is shaken by the revelation that afterall her husband didn't leave any heritage. Júlia realizes her future depends of a drastic choice, between the love of her mother and her girlfriend. Piedade makes an ultimate attempt to get close to her daughter Salomé.

Beyond the Gates
Beyond the Gates is set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington D.C., and in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States. Here you'll find a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those that live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have "made it" and those who haven't are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.
