In this episode, property expert Amanda Lamb, presenter and JLS star JB Gill, and DJ and presenter Sam Pinkham are in Sintra in the mountains close to Lisbon, competing to find the perfect traditional Portuguese holiday home.
Sintra used to be the holiday destination of Portugal's royals and aristocracy, but today it's a popular tourist destination boasting restaurants, hotels, and views worthy of royalty.
Amanda's option is a stunning house in the hills of old Sintra with commanding views down the valley, at least two castles for neighbours, and a period interior style. Sam takes us to a five-bedroom ultra-chic house nestled deep in the country, with a pool, a kitchen big enough to entertain in, and views down to the sea. JB opts for a quieter getaway, a couple's retreat with easy access to nearby amenities, traditional styling and an infinity pool, but will its cost and lack of extras be its downfall?
Then there's the mystery property, a house in a lovingly restored village hidden away in the mountains outside Sintra. All four sunny holiday homes offer a taste of traditional Portuguese life. But which one be crowned king of Sintra getaways?
