Episode 1
In the first episode, we go behind the scenes of the Household Cavalry's prestigious Knightsbridge barracks, to see the stables in which hundreds of soldiers and horses live side by side. We meet the regiment's newest recruits on their first day of training. Most of these new troopers have never been anywhere near a horse before. Now they must prove themselves worthy of joining the regiment most admired for their equine skills.

Episode 3
The armoured side of the regiment head out on manoeuvres to Oman, as part of the largest expeditionary exercise the British Army has been involved in for 16 years, and through the stifling heat, they need to demonstrate their fighting capabilities. Back in England, the most skilled riders of the regiment are rehearsing for the Musical Ride at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Episode 4
Three and a half centuries after the Household Cavalry was founded, the first female trooper is about to join the regiment. We follow Trooper Nina Crocker as she gets ready to make military history by serving alongside the long serving cavalrymen.
While things are getting even tougher for the new recruits, they are entering the next level of training in which the pressure is massively turned up. With very little sleep from working 18 hour days, and under the record-breaking summer heat, they need to survive rigorous inspections to make it to the next stage.
Meanwhile, the armoured side of the regiment have travelled to Canada, to practise their fighting skills on the British Army's largest and most unpredictable training ground.

Episode 5
The Household Cavalry's 280 horses descend on a Norfolk beach as the regiment heads off for its spectacular annual summer camp. For outgoing Colonel, James Gaselee, it's a time to reflect on his time commanding the regiment.
After weeks of drop-outs, the remaining new recruits need to pass the final, and hardest, inspection if they are to make it as fully fledged cavalrymen.
We go behind the scenes as the regiment's vet shows how she deals with the challenge of looking after the horses, who famously work as hard as the soldiers, before the best of the Cavalry's troopers are pushed to the limit to compete for the chance of promotion.

Episode 6
New commanding officer Lt Col Paddy Williams prepares to lead the regiment on his first state visit, while trooper Austin Kime has a tricky horse to contend with as he rides alongside the boss. Over in Norfolk, the best of the cavalry's troopers have been handpicked to compete for promotion. They need to survive in the wild, facing challenges that push them to the limit.
