While assessing a convicted murderer for the Parole Board, Jane is asked to provide Grief Counseling at an exclusive boys' school where a teacher has suddenly died.

The Feeding
Jane Halifax is called in to do a profile on a serial killer, dubbed the Make-Up Murderer.

My Lovely Girl
Jane finds her misquoted criticism of a colleague's release of a mental patient, who murders again, leads to a patient of her own.

Hard Corps
Two police detectives meet with their informant, but the meeting ends with informant being shot. Halifax is called in order to help in an internal investigation of the incident.

Lies of the Mind
Jane is called on to assess wealthy socialite, Sharon Sinclair, charged with the murder of her father, Sir Edward and her step-mother.
