A Time to Heal
The news of Grace Greenleaf's return to Memphis breeds tension.

The Baptism
Grace's decision to move back to Memphis is driven by vengeance following her sister Faith's death; she then is uncomfortable settling back into working at church with her family.

We Shall See Him as He Is
Grace goes on an awkward date that includes Noah and Isabel, Jacob and Kerissa come to a realization about what their relationship has become while hosting a dinner for the deacons. Bishop Greenleaf attempts to give Senator Banks the runaround in regards to the church's finances. Mac threatens to blackmail Mavis in order to stop Grace's investigation.

Behind Closed Doors
When the mayor decides to cash in a favor with Bishop Greenleaf, hoping to find one black church to support the local law enforcement community, he gets put in a tight spot that could cause a rift within the church. Through the course of her investigation, Grace gets blackmailed by an old acquaintance of Faith's. Charity spills the beans about her pregnancy to Lady Mae. Kerissa and Jacob start going to counselling sessions in an attempt to save their marriage.

Meaningful Survival
A family in the church asks for prayers; Lady Mae tries to mend fences between the Bishop and Deacon Sykes; Jacob's infidelities push Kerissa to her limit; and Kevin takes a step toward exploring his sexuality.

Good Morning, Calvary
With the Bishop unable to attend church one Sunday, he appoints Grace to be the pastor – much to Lady Mae's horror and Grace's protests. In an attempt to get reinstated in the church, Jacob starts working on getting the services televised and promptly gets jealous when the television executive takes a liking to Kerissa. Charity's plans to get a new music director after Nigel leaves backfires and ultimately forces Kevin to face his deep-seated issues. James reaches out to Mavis and has a heart to heart with his sister-in-law. Lady Mae confesses about feeling guilty about Faith's death.

One Train May Hide Another
On the day he's set to receive the Memphis Man of the Year award, Mac juggles a variety of tasks for the Greenleaf clan.

The Whole Book
Grace reaches out to Officer Nelson while also working with Noah in an effort to find evidence against Mac; Lady Mae is suspicious of Grace and Noah; Jacob presents his TV plan to the Bishop; Lady Mae pushes the Bishop to reveal a secret; and the Bishop deals with a woman who is out to destroy Calvary.

The Broken Road
Security at Calvary is debated following the church shooting; Charity confronts Kevin; and Mac plans to leave the country.

March to the Sea
Grace thwarts Mac's attempt to blackmail the Bishop; and deals with Sophia's father, Ray, who has doubts about Grace's parenting. In other events, Charity, who's fed up with being disrespected, finally speaks up.

Men Like Trees Walking
The church is losing money and members; Ray seeks custody of Sophia; Jacob's offers to help Calvary are declined; and Kevin gets closer to Adrian.

Veni, Vidi, Vici
Grace, Ray and Sophia go to court; Basie, the Bishop and Jacob discuss an opportunity at Triumph; Deacon Sykes wants to hold a "women's day" at a smaller venue; Adrian gets the wrong idea about his lunch with Kevin; Mavis has problems with her club; and Kevin shares his feelings with Charity.

What Are You Doing Here?
In the Season 1 finale, Deacon Sykes has doubts about Lady Mae preaching at the "women's day" event; Basie wants Jacob to run Triumph's new community center; and Lady Mae confronts Mavis.
