Shinichi Sakurai is a junior high school graduate who works for a mid-sized real estate company. His wife, Kanako, is also a junior high school graduate, and they are blessed with a daughter - Kaori. Even though the family isn't wealthy, they live happily together.

One day, however, Kaori receives the horrific result she scored on a nationwide exam. "Will my daughter be just a junior high school graduate as well?" Shinichi asks. After deciding to send Kaori to an elite school, worried Shinichi soon realizes his daughter will be in the bottom class in a cram school which makes it impossible for her to pass the school entrance exam.

Shinichi names the study room at home as "My cram school" and studies together with Kaori to make a way for her to enter a competitive school.
