Her compatriot Jiyai Shin is looking for her second British Open triumph in three years but faces stiff competition from the rest of the world's top 10 as they look to take the title from reigning champion Catriona Matthew.

Defending champion Catriona Matthew is the highest-ranked Briton: she became the first Scottish woman to win a major title when she sank three late birdies to win the 2009 British Open by three shots. Expect more drama on the Southport course.
