Episode 1

Mum Kim has burnt her nurse uniform, dad Dave can't understand the wage slip from his driving job, and son Max is missing school again to look after his daughter Poppy.

With Dave pondering a career move to Iraq, no money left in the money-jar and an unfinished house extension, it's left to Kim's sister, Jackie, to suggest a simple plan to sort things out. Also on hand is fellow chauffeur Terry with his own free life-tutoring course and a less than helpful view on everything.

With the car playing up and dog, baby and son in tow, Kim calls in the cavalry before outsource providers, Buccaneer 2000 (‘we care about your healthcare') can find out and dock her pay.

Episode 2

Time's passed by, the bungalow has been sold and the money split, but with mother's health taking a turn for the worse Kim and Jackie have had to put their escape plans on hold. Worse follows as the true cost of mum's stroke emerges and the dreaded question of care costs are raised. With Jacks in tow as she does her rounds, Kim opens her sister's eyes to a less-than-rosy life of drip stands and incontinence pads as she rushed to keep up with her appointments.

At the airport, Dave and Tel enjoy a more leisurely way of life as they kill yet more time waiting for clients and putting the world to rights. Kelly's missed spelling bee offers mixed blessings, with Dave left in a dilemma and Iraq back on the agenda. The satnav has the final word.

Episode 3

Son Ryan's decision to return home to save cash looks premature, as the family's fortunes pick up following more grim news from the hospital. Money worries lifted, Kim and Dave's new freedom is somewhat undermined by developments at work, which see Dave engaged in a unique dirty protest and Kim taking on the Buccaneer 2000 empire.

A face from the past and talk of a spin class do little to calm things down, as a patient provides an unwelcome farewell gift to send Kim on her way to an uncertain future.

Back home, Ryan's half-baked chicken alaska sets the scene for a showdown as Kim and Jackie's long-brewing collision course finally ends in fireworks. Insults traded, it's back to dirty nappies, dog sick and the much-discussed job in Iraq.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert brings his signature satire and comedy to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the #1 show in late-night. Featuring bandleader Jon Batiste with his band Stay Human, the Emmy Award-nominated show broadcasts from the historic Ed Sullivan Theater. He talks with an eclectic mix of guests about what is new and relevant in the worlds of politics, entertainment, business, music, technology, and more. Stephen Colbert took over as host, executive producer, and writer of The Late Show on Sept. 8, 2015.

Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and lest known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Before joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed The Colbert Report, which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one-third of the time. Good luck, Bill!
