Live Boxing Preview

On the eve of a live night of professional boxing in Swansea, Jason Mohammad, Lauren Price, Enzo Maccarinelli and Gary Lockett take a close-up look at the Welsh fight scene and the impact that boxing has in Welsh society.
Jason's journey starts in the steel city of Sheffield at Lauren Price's training camp for her first debut fight as a professional following her Olympic gold. Gavin Rees is a former world champion but now he is training some of Wales's top contenders from his gym in Pantside near Caerphilly. On Saturday night he will glove up Jake Tinkling to fight Lloyd Germain for the Welsh welterweight title. Germain is trained by renowned cornerman Tony Borg who runs the famous St Joseph's Gym in Newport, home to many a champion and yet another solace to many troubled souls.
Port Talbot's Joshua John is also trained by Borg. He once thought that he'd have to leave the game following a brain scan but now he's back fighting fit and faces Scotland's Mark McKeown for the Celtic featherweight title on Saturday night in Swansea where the Welsh middleweight title will also be on the line as Mogan Jones from Aberdare faces Gerome Warburton from Colwyn Bay.
Jason's journey will end up at Enzo Maccarinelli's gym in Bonymaen in Swansea, where he is trying to have a positive effect on the local community.
All boxing roads will lead to Swansea on Saturday night and this show will certainly whet the appetite.
