FIA World Rally Championship Highlights - Season 5 / Year 2022

Season 5 / Year 2022

Episodes

Episode 3
The Croatia Rally. Action from the third round of the season, as the teams negotiated fast and narrow tarmac roads around Zagreb.

Episode 4
Drivers go for glory in the fourth weekend of the season in Portugal. Fast and technical gravel roads inland from Porto in the north and centre of the country are soft and sandy initially, but can become rocky and rutted for the second pass. Plenty of tricky corners are hidden by crests, while temperatures can soar in Portugal's early summer.

The Rally Italia Sardegna
Action from the fifth round of the season, as rugged and sun-baked gravel tracks in the north of Sardinia ensured one of the season's sternest challenges. Fast and narrow stages left no margin for error, while intense heat combined with abrasive roads to test tyres to the limit.

2022 - Kenya
The Safari Rally Kenya. Action from the sixth round of the campaign, featuring challenging closed dirt roads, stunning picture-postcard scenery and exotic wildlife. Competitors could expect rocky and rutted tracks and unpredictable weather which could transform dry and dusty trails into glutinous mudbaths.

The Rally Estonia
Action from the seventh round of the season, as the championship visits the country for the third time.

The Rally Finland
Action from the eighth round of the season, featuring smooth and blisteringly quick gravel roads buried among forests and lakes in the centr of the country.

Belgium
The Ypres Rally Belgium. Action from the eighth round of the season, which made its second WRC appearance after a late call-up to the calendar. Narrow and twisty asphalt farm lanes were lined by drainage ditches and telegraph poles, with many tight junctions. Big cuts in corners meant mud and debris were dragged onto the road, making conditions slippery.

The Acropolis Rally Greece
Action from the 10th round of the campaign, in which gravel mountain roads combined with high temperatures and choking dust to provide a fierce challenge.

The Repco Rally New Zealand
Action from the 11th round of the season, which returns to the World Rally Championship for the first time since 2012. Fast, flowing gravel roads with cambered corners wind their way through forests and along the picture postcard New Zealand coastline.

The Rally de Espana
Action from the 12th round of the season. Fast and smooth circuit-like asphalt in the Costa Daurada hills down the coast from Barcelona encouraged attacking driving.

The Rally Japan
Action from the 13th and final round of the season, as the race returned to the calendar 12 years after it was last on the fixture list.
