In the series premiere, Octavia and Dook open the kitchen to three teams of Southern families for a down-home showdown. In the first round, an aunt and niece, mother-in-law and son-in-law and wife duo serve up their best Southern brunch. In the second round, the final two teams put their own spin on one of guest judge Reese Witherspoon's childhood favorites.

Biscuit Bliss
Octavia Spencer and Edgar "Dook" Chase meet three teams of home cook hopefuls for a biscuit bake-off! In the first round, grandmother and grandson Mamaw Gail and Ethan, sisters Rachel and Haley, and sisters-in-law Pamela and Antoinette serve up their family's version of a Southern staple: biscuits. The two final teams then take on one of guest judges Al and Leila Roker's family favorite desserts for a chance at $10,000!

Southern Cocktail Hour
Host extraordinaire Octavia Spencer and head judge Edgar "Dook" Chase surprise three teams of Southern home cooks with a Southern cocktail hour. Father and daughter Sichon and Ali, husbands John and Eric, and mother and daughter Ellen and Nivek serve up three cocktail hour bites alongside a signature cocktail. Then, the two teams that make it to the second round put their spin on either guest judge Eric Stonestreet or Octavia's childhood comfort meal. In the end, only one duo will take home the $10,000.

Team Tailgate
Octavia Spencer and Edgar "Dook" Chase are ready for a tailgate! Thankfully, father and daughter Greg and Brittney, cousins Steve and Ken, and husband and wife James and Ronalyn arrive ready for game time. In the first matchup, the home cooks present their best handheld tailgate specialties, but only two teams can make it to the finals. At halftime, guest judge Danielle Brooks arrives to challenge the two remaining teams with one of her family favorite dishes. In the end, only one team has what it takes to take home the win and the $10,000 prize.

Catch of the South
Host Octavia Spencer and head judge Edgar "Dook" Chase reel in three new teams of family home cooks for a seafood showdown. In the first round, husband and wife Gabrielle and Devin, cousins Kyle and Tory, and brothers Brandon and Blaine create Southern seafood specialties. Two teams move on to round two, where they create their version of guest judge Kandi Burrus' family favorite. Only one family duo can impress the judges enough to walk away with $10,000.

Cast-Iron Secrets
Octavia Spencer and Edgar "Dook" Chase hope to learn some family secrets in this duel of the cast-iron pans. In the first round, twin brothers Jeremiah and Zach, aunt and niece Cynthia and Legenia, and fiancés Ovi and Hannah present their best cast-iron dishes. Two teams move on to round two, where they'll be wishing they put hot sauce in their bag to take on guest judge Tina Knowles' family favorite recipes. Only one team will impress the judges enough to pay their bills, bills, bills with the $10,000 prize.

Peas, Greens and Superstitions
Things get very superstitious as Octavia Spencer and Edgar "Dook" Chase invite three teams of home cooks to create a dish based on family superstitions. Mother and son Sheila and Vincent, mother and child Amy and Rae, and cousins Benita and Christina cross their fingers and hope to stick around to the second round. The remaining teams create a Southern vegan delight for guest judge Jessica Chastain. They'd better knock on wood, because only one team will take home the $10,000 prize.
