Donna Decorates Dallas - Season 1

A neurosurgeon's wife gives Donna the call to update the couple's outdated master bedroom in the designer's signature "bling" style. Donna and her team create a custom-made bed, side tables and storage chest in an elegant Old World style, with touches specific to the couple's needs. By adding an antique faux paint scheme, a re-upholstered sofa and a couple of strategically placed chandeliers, Donna and her daughter Tiffany achieve a total transformation. Another client is having trouble choosing chairs, and a tight deadline turns what started as a simple project into a challenge for Donna.

A professional golfer and his wife call upon Donna to bring a luxurious and unified look to their great room whose decor is slightly haphazard. Her team of artisans and designers pulls together an ensemble of custom drapes, hand-carved wood furnishings and a magnificent fireplace mantel to give the room a luxurious makeover.

A family's 16-year-old daughter has outgrown the little girl's room she was raised in, and she now wants decor that fits her style. Using crystal chandeliers, tufted fabric, an original wall mural and elegant new furniture, Donna achieves a breathtaking transformation.

Donna transforms a master suite into a romantic getaway using a rich selection of fabrics, applying an artistic faux paint scheme and installing furniture that makes a bold statement.

Mary and Ken Cornelius love to entertain and they want a dining room whose decor reflects their personality and lifestyle. Donna presents a plan for the room that calls for the addition of artistic ironwork to the base of the glass-topped dining table, custom-made dining chairs, a stylized plaster filigree in the ceiling, and replacing a ceiling fan in the bar area with a crystal chandelier. And she shows another client how to give a chandelier a quick and easy spruce up.

Donna's teenage client Austin is very clear about the 'rich, rustic Texas hunting lodge' style he wants for his room. To achieve this, Donna installs faux wooden ceiling beams and creates a wall treatment that features a rustic weathered wood and wood plank finish. Donna also has her fabric specialists create a custom-made bedspread and draperies in a hunting camouflage pattern.

Donna's friend Earlene has a seldom-used upstairs TV room that's more alcove than media room. Earlene wants to turn the room into a funky man cave/entertainment area that she and her husband will enjoy. And another client has a large empty niche above her front door and she calls on Donna to dress it up on a budget.

Donna's husband Paul is leaving town for a week, and she enlists her daughters Tiffany and Ashley in a plan to surprise him upon his return with a total makeover of their guest room. Going for a strong Moroccan theme, Donna has her faux paint artist create intricate and colorful arabesque patterns on the ceilings and walls. The ladies go shopping for decorative accessories for the room and Donna commissions an artist to create bold, colorful one-of-a-kind cornices and wall hangings.

Donna's client Jenny and her family have moved into a new home built in an old world gothic style, and Jenny would like the entry foyer and dining room decorated to reflect the home's castle-like architecture. Donna is given the challenge of designing the space makes the best use of the available space for dining and entertaining while capturing the old world feel. And Donna gives another client a home office with sparkle and flair.

Donna's friends Athena and Mike have a giant back yard featuring a rarely used arbor and a swimming pool that Athena claims is the ugliest pool in the county. Donna dramatically remakes the area to create a veritable oasis with a strong Greek theme to honor Athena's family heritage. Also, Donna's client Melanie is expecting a baby girl and she asks Donna to help her create a nursery area in an alcove in her master bedroom.

Harlan and his girlfriend Robin have just bought a gorgeous new house that has sat vacant for a couple of years. The previous owner removed most of the fixtures, including the tub in the master bath, so Donna has a blank slate to work with. The master bedroom suite is enormous, with high vaulted ceilings in both the bedroom and bath. The bedroom ceiling features massive timbers and wrought iron support brackets, giving the room and substantial, yet spacious and open feel. Harlan collects architectural antiques, and he would like Donna to include some of them in her design for the suite.

It's Donna's year to put on the family Christmas at her house, and she's going all out with the decorations. To start, Donna, Tiffany and Ashley go shopping at Dallas' World Trade Center and come away with a stunning nativity scene, an enormous Santa and a host of festive elves and fairies. In addition to adorning the house with classic wreaths and garlands and two fully decked-out trees, Donna and the girls handcraft tree ornaments using Styrofoam balls, animal print fabric, fringed trim and crystals. Donna also makes scented candles in decorated cocktail glasses. Plus, a family friend of the Mosses has had a rough year with health problems, and Donna, Tiffany and Ashley make a tabletop Christmas decoration to give the family. They also deliver and decorate a Christmas tree for them.

Rick and Jolene's entire ground floor was destroyed by water damage. They call Donna to come up with a design plan for replacing all the furnishings, flooring, appliances, wall treatments and decorative accessories. Over several months, working with a team of subcontractors and craftsmen, Donna creates a comfortable and well-appointed home interior that exceeds all expectations.

Gene and Shelley have never been happy with the look of their living room, so Donna give it a full upgrade with the construction of an enormous custom-built wall unit that encloses Gene's aquarium, provides an attractive surround for the television, and features wrought iron cabinet doors on either side.
