Der Bauer Alfred Kühbandner wurde von einem Pfeil, anscheinend aus einem Distanzinjektionsblasrohr, tödlich getroffen. Im Misthaufen werden Reste seines Testaments sichergestellt. Die Ermittlungen der Kommissare Stadler und Hecht richten sich zunächst gegen Susanne Steindl, die zweite Ehefrau des Opfers, die sich mehr von ihrer Ehe mit Kühbandner versprochen hatte. Im Verlauf steht auch dessen enterbter Sohn Martin unter Verdacht. Und dann ist da noch der Viehhändler Horst Rienäcker, mit dem der Tote vor kurzem heftig gestritten hatte, weil er glaubte, von ihm über den Tisch gezogen zu werden. Derweil bieten Anton Stadler und seine Frau Hilde bei einer Onlineversteigerung um eine bayrische Rock-'n'-Roll-LP um die Wette – als perfektes Geschenk für Stadlers Onkel Friedhelm. Keiner von beiden weiß vom anderen. Sie wissen zudem nicht, dass es Hausmeister Hannes Winkler ist, der die LP versteigert.
