Gerhard Nebeling wird erschlagen im Co-Working-Space gefunden, von dem aus der Digital Nomad zuletzt seine Internet-Verkaufsplattform betrieben hatte. Die Kommissare Stadler und Beck ermitteln. Unter Verdacht geraten zunächst die Vermieter von Nebelings temporärem Arbeitsplatz: Boris Lengauer unterstellte seiner Frau Katrin eine Affäre mit Nebeling. Um ihnen auf die Schliche zu kommen, setzte er die Privatdetektivin Sophie Gall auf die beiden an. Gall mietete sich unter falschen Vorwänden ebenfalls in den Co-Working-Space der Lengauers ein und wurde kurz vor Nebelings Tod bei einem heftigen Streit mit dem Opfer beobachtet. Und dann ist da noch Nebelings Geschäftspartner, der Social-Media-Experte Leon Blume. Er bewarb die Produkte des Opfers auf einem gemeinsamen Social-Media-Kanal mit seiner „Oma" Gerlinde Meyr. Im Gegenzug beteiligte Nebeling das Influencer-Duo an den Gewinnen seiner Verkäufe – doch der Anteil fiel deutlich kleiner aus, als er hätte sein sollen.
