Eine junge Frau wird erdrosselt im Rotlichtmilieu aufgefunden. Ihre Aufmachung verschleiert zunächst ihre Identität, doch Schumann und seine Kollegen stoßen bald auf eine erste Spur: Isabel Schütze war Studentin mit einem ungewöhnlichen, jedoch lukrativen Nebenjob. Die hübsche junge Frau arbeitete als Treuetesterin, fühlte dabei potenziellen Fremdgehern auf den Zahn und finanzierte auf diesem Wege ihr Studium als Ethik-Managerin. In den Kreis der Verdächtigen geraten somit bald jene Männer, die Isabel im Auftrag ihrer misstrauischen Ehefrauen auf die Treue-Probe stellte. Doch Schumann glaubt, dass mehr dahinter steckt als Rache oder Eifersucht. Isabel stammte aus einem linksliberalen Elternhaus. Durch ihre Erziehung wurde ihr ein starkes moralisches Wertegerüst mit auf den Weg gegeben. Und trotzdem glauben ihre Eltern, Isabel als angehende Managerin an das kapitalistische System verloren zu haben. Diese aber hatte einen genauen Plan: Sie wollte helfen. Eine große Investorenfirma hatte in den vergangenen Monaten Berliner Altbauwohnungen aufgekauft, um sie in Luxuslofts umzuwandeln. Auch Isabels Eltern sollten gezwungen werden, ihr Heim für eine wohlhabendere Klientel zu räumen. Zu welchen Mitteln hatte Isabel gegriffen, um für ein besseres Miteinander zu kämpfen? Schumann stößt bei diesem Fall auf einen moralischen Konflikt mit tödlichem Ausgang.
