Die 22-jährige Manja Nowak, der Star der TV-Serie „Checker Kreuzkölln“, bricht vor laufender Kamera zusammen und ist kurz darauf tot. Für Hauptkommissar Bruno Schumann und seine Kollegen ist die Todesursache schnell klar: Cyanid. Von der Filmcrew kann sich niemand den Mord an der beliebten Kollegin erklären. Doch als Schumann von der Entscheidung des Produzenten Roland Falkenberg erfährt, die Dreharbeiten so schnell wie möglich fortzusetzen, wird rasch klar, dass alle Nettigkeiten nur Kulisse sind. So kommen ihm bald auch Gerüchte zu Ohren, dass Manja Nowak nebenbei Pornofilme gedreht haben soll und dubiose Videos von ihr im Internet kursieren. Während der Kriminalist den verschiedenen Hinweisen nachgeht, befindet er sich plötzlich selbst im Fokus der Kameras. Auf Schritt und Tritt fühlt er sich verfolgt und muss feststellen, dass die Produzenten für eine gute Story weder vor seinem Arbeits- noch vor seinem Privatleben haltmachen. Trotz aller Widrigkeiten gelingt es Schumann, ein brisantes Geheimnis zwischen der toten Schauspielerin und dem Produzenten zu enttarnen. Wollte Falkenberg dieses Geheimnis verbergen? Wusste die Frau des Produzenten ebenfalls davon? Oder war der gespielte Streit zwischen Manja und ihrer Kollegin Vanessa doch bitterer Ernst, mit tödlichen Folgen? Und welche Rolle spielt Manjas Ex-Freund, der ebenfalls zum Filmteam gehört? Motive für den Mord an dem jungen Serienstar sind ausreichend vorhanden. Doch es gibt nur eine Wahrheit, und die muss der Kriminalist herausfinden. (Text: ZDF)
