Willie Dante, a former gambler. runs Dante's Inferno, a nightclub in San Francisco.

Dante is a former underworld character trying to go straight running the nightclub, but the police don't believe he's completely legitimate and some of his former underworld pals keep trying to lure him back into his former illicit activities.
