Season 22

Episodes

Week 1: Premiere
"Dancing with the Stars" is back with an all-new celebrity cast ready to hit the ballroom floor. The competition begins with the two-hour season premiere. The premiere episode will kick off with an exciting and dynamic opening number, featuring all of the celebrities and dancers, along with returning head judge Len Goodman. The night continues with each couple dancing a cha cha, fox trot, jive, tango or quickstep, vying for America's vote for the first time. No couples will be eliminated on week 1, and they will all advance to week 2 of the competition.

Week 2: Latin Night
The 12 celebrities ready themselves for Latin Night, one of the hottest nights in the ballroom, with each celebrity performing either a rumba, salsa, samba, paso doblé, cha cha, or Argentine tango.

Week 3: Most Memorable Year
The couples perform dances meant to commemorate their most memorable year; Andra Day performs.

Week 4: Disney films music
The couples dance to songs from Disney films; guest judge Zendaya.

Week 5: Switch-Up Challenge

Week 6: Famous Dances Night
The remaining nine celebrities return to their original professional dance partners to tackle "Famous Dances Night" on "Dancing with the Stars," live, MONDAY, APRIL 25 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT) on the ABC Television Network. The couples will re-create iconic dance routines from popular movies, music videos and live performances, including "Hairspray," "Footloose," a famous Michael Jackson music video and a Video Music Awards routine. Each celebrity will perform a jive, Bollywood, jazz, contemporary or quickstep.
There will be an elimination at the end of the night based on the lowest combined judges' scores and viewer's votes from "America's Switch Up" and "Disney Night" performances

Week 7: Icons
The couples will dance to music from such icons as Beyoncé, James Brown, Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder. In addition, for the first time ever on the show, it's men vs. women as the celebrities and their pro dancers get together for team dances, with the men as Team James Brown and the women as Team Beyoncé. Each celebrity will perform a Tango, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Samba, Foxtrot, Jive or Salsa.

Week 8: You Be the Judge
Each of the judges – Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli – will coach two couples, as well as choose their songs, dance styles and overall creative. Then, for the first time this season, the stars in each team will have to step away from their pros and dance by themselves for a portion of their routine.

Week 9: Semi-Finals
The five remaining couples advance to the semi-finals as the competition heats up, on "Dancing with the Stars," live. Each couple will dance two dances – one being a style the couple has not danced to yet, and the second being a Trio Dance, in which each celebrity couple will dance with a third dancer. For the trio dance, Ginger Zee will dance with Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Artem Chigvintsev, Antonio Brown will dance with Sharna Burgess and Hayley Erbert, Wanyá Morris will dance with Lindsay Arnold and Witney Carson, Paige VanZant will dance with Mark Ballas and Alan Bersten, and Nyle DiMarco will dance with Peta Murgatroyd and Jenna Johnson.
Each celebrity will perform a contemporary, quickstep, Argentine tango, Charleston, jive, samba or Paso Doblé. There will be a double elimination, based on last week's combined judges' scores and viewer votes, determining the final three couples who will go on to the finals to vie for the mirrorball.

Week 10: Finale Part 1
The three finalists will each perform two dances – a redemption style dance (jazz, quickstep or salsa), and a freestyle. And singer/songwriter BC Jean will perform "Over the Rainbow" during Paige and Mark's freestyle dance.

Week 10: Finale Part 2
The three finalists advance to the final stage of the competition. There will be live dancing and show-stopping performances as the night kicks off with a high-energy opening number, featuring a reunion of all 12 of this season's couples.
The finale will be filled with performances from Pitbull, who will perform "Messin' Around," Aloe Blacc, performing "Let the Games Begin," and Fifth Harmony, performing "Flex." Fleur East will perform "Sax" as Kim Fields and Sasha Farber dance with the "Dancing with the Stars" female pro dancers. Additionally, brothers Maksim and Valentin Chmerkovskiy will give the fans a sneak peek of the sensational dance show they will be performing across America over the summer: Maks & Val Live On Tour: Our Way.
In the last element of competition, the couples will perform a new routine as part of a "24-Hour Fusion Challenge." The remaining couples will fuse two contrasting dance styles, and they'll have less than 24 hours to prepare that dance for judges' points. The votes from May 16 and May 23 will be combined along with the judges' points from both weeks and the "24-Hour Fusion Challenge" to determine the winner. At the end of the night, a champion will be named, and the winner will be presented with the coveted Mirrorball trophy.
