In the first of the 10-part series, Caroline explores her favourite part of Cornwall with her old friend and ferryman Nick Bailey, who takes her on a tour of the Helford River, where travelling by boat is quicker and easier than by car. Nick explains: "I did marry a Cornish girl and I can't ever imagine taking her and the kids, anywhere else than here…even after all these years the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I just love being here, it's my life."

Also this week, it's a busy time at the Cornwall Seal Sanctuary where the team have rescued over 60 grey seals during the season and it's time to release the last of the rescued seal pups back into the wild.

This week, farmer and coasteering enthusiast Sam Williams takes to the water with some intrepid tourists. Trebah Gardens green fingered head gardener, Darren Dickey, gets his hands dirty for the annual hydrangea harvest. Caroline drops in on the crew of the Padstow RNLI and takes to the water with them on a training exercise, a boat trip she'll never forget.

Pip, guardian to one of Cornwall's most ancient and magical country estates, calls in the family to help with some Cornish hedge construction. Caroline drops in on the Roskilly family, dairy farmers on the Lizard Peninsula, to help head ice cream maker Toby, conjure up a new flavour.

Caroline discovers she has a nose for cider as she drops in on Sam and Georgie at Healey's Cornish Cyder Farm.

Caroline heads to Pentillie Castle and drops in on the Coryton family, who inherited and transformed this stately home for all to enjoy.
