On Saturday, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and L.A. Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley presented a united front at a press briefing, following reports the mayor had dismissed the chief over her complaints of insufficient resources. While firefighters continue battling the flames ravaging the Los Angeles area, California state officials said there have been at least 40 incidents involving drones, forcing crews to temporarily ground air operations. Maurice DuBois has more. In a widely expected move, special counsel Jack Smith departed from the Justice Department after years of federal investigations into President-elect Donald Trump. Willie James Inman has the details. The black boxes of a Boeing jetliner that crashed in South Korea last month stopped recording about four minutes before the accident that killed 179 people, officials said Saturday. Nearly 7,000 firefighters are working to contain the spreading flames in Los Angeles County on Saturday, with no end in sight. Overnight, the Palisades Fire, the largest of the brush fires, grew by about 1,000 acres and prompted new evacuations in the Brentwood and Encino neighborhoods. Lilia Luciano reports.
