The Backyard Show

Two kids named Michael and his sister Amy are seen coming home from their last day of school, and after they play in their clubhouse. Just when they wish that they had a make-believe friend to play with, their stuffed dinosaur comes to life. Michael and Amy are shocked to see that their stuffed dinosaur had come to life. So after the kids introduce themselves, Barney introduces himself through song, and the kids sing along with him. After Barney and the kids get acquainted with one another, they spend an entire day of play. Barney and the kids pretend to be many things and learn the importance of imagination.

Three Wishes

Amy and Michael want to surprise their dad for his birthday. With the Backyard Gang in doubt, there's no way the show can be produced quickly (or, so they think). Fortunately, Barney the Dinosaur comes to life, and encourages the kids to use their imaginations to help make the show a reality. Along the way, they sing songs and recite rhymes that are later sung in the birthday show. The show ends up to be a success with Dad doing the "Hokey Pokey".

On a hot summer day, the Backyard Gang is so excited to go to the beach tomorrow, but they could not go there because their dad has to go to work. Disappointed, no one knows what to do until Barney comes to life. By using their imaginations, Barney transports the kids to the beach in a flying swimming pool where they build sandcastles, collect seashells, eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a picnic lunch, explore an old pirate ship, go under the sea and meet Barney’s friend, Molly the Mermaid.

On Halloween, Barney and the Backyard Gang have fun at Tina's preschool. They also decorated the whole elementary school. When Michael, Amy and their friend Adam return home, the kids say "Trick-or-treat!". So they give out candies to them until Barney shows up and their mother reads a bedtime story called "The Halloween Eve on October 30."
