This week, we meet bargain-loving Clive and Sheila from Liverpool, who know every trick going to hang on to their pennies: they even got married at nine in the morning to save money! DIY king Clive knows how to upcycle stuff that other people chuck away. He's made a water feature out of an old biscuit tin, uses donated wood to make some tomato planters and gets payment in kind. They both know how to complain royally to get full value for money. In Hungerford, Jane's a legend in town, always coming up with a new hack to get people to cough up cash to bolster her meagre pension, whether it's busking or selling stuff she's found in local skips, or in one of her famous yard sales. Over in Kent, Suki has learned to get by growing her own veg, batch cooking and doing voluntary work at her local gurdwara, where she can get free meals, and using the outside sports facilities to keep fit, all for free. Meanwhile, young wannabe actress Jaasvi is living at home to save money before she hits the big time. She's learning how to save dosh on shopping trips with her bargain-hunting auntie as well as making money from old computers with the help of her dad.

The Gilded Age
The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic change, of huge fortunes made and lost, and the rise of disparity between old money and new.
Against this backdrop of change, the story begins in 1882 — introducing young Marian Brook, the orphaned daughter of a Union general, who moves into the New York City home of her thoroughly old money aunts Agnes van Rhijn and Ada Brook. Accompanied by Peggy Scott, an accomplished African-American woman, Marian inadvertently becomes enmeshed in a social war between one of her aunts, a scion of the old money set, and her stupendously rich neighbors, a ruthless railroad tycoon and his ambitious wife, George and Bertha Russell.
