Amandaland - Season 1

Season 1
Episodes

House Party
Following her divorce, Amanda finds herself downsizing from Chiswick to So-ha (South Harlesden). Amanda rekindles her friendship with Anne, her ex-bff from the old primary school gates. Amanda's children, Georgie and Manus, have recently moved to the same local high school as Anne's son Darius. Amanda's delighted when Georgie befriends Morten, the daughter of celebrity chef Della Fry, owner of trendy local eatery SHIN.
Realising her way in is through the local football club, Amanda signs the kids up to Hounslow Eagle FC, despite having zero interest in soccer. Meanwhile, Anne organises welcome drinks to introduce Amanda to the ‘Anne Gang', the same night as Georgie's invited to Morten's house party at Della and her wife Fi's house. Amanda is torn. Does she go and 'sink some fizz' with Anne, or does she capitalise on her opportunity to take a dip in Della and Fi's hot tub?
While all this is going on, Amanda's mother Felicity offers to babysit Manus (mainly to avoid her PA/carer Joy), and Amanda continues to contest the parking space outside her flat with her neighbour and fellow school parent Mal. In turn, Mal navigates the world of co-parenting with his son's step-dad JJ.

Car Boot
Things are looking up for Amanda when she's approached for a photoshoot of her new ‘minimalist' home. It's by a local estate agent's free paper, but it's still a photoshoot! However, her attempts at a 'simpleton lifestyle', as she calls it, are foiled when Felicity insists Amanda finally empty all the stuff from her mother's garage. Luckily, it's the football club's annual car boot, so Anne persuades Amanda to take a stall and part with some of her ‘curated pieces' - all her old stuff from her massive Chiswick House - for a good cause. Also, Della is doing the BBQ, so it's a great opportunity for more social climbing.
Meanwhile, Felicity attends her old friend Bunny's funeral, and Mal struggles with his ex-wife's clear out of all their keepsakes. Anne becomes obsessed with discovering the identity of her son's new girlfriend - or boyfriend - and Fi takes up basketry.

New Job
When Amanda's Tesla is towed away due to another failed repayment, Amanda's forced to admit that maybe her social media brand ‘Senuous' isn't quite the money spinner she'd hoped for. So she decides to collaborate ('co-lab') with a local kitchen shop – Kichen's Kitchens and Bathrooms – in the hope of making a quick buck, though she's keen not to make this public knowledge. All this coincides with ‘parents evening', where Amanda is told that her daughter Georgie needs to focus more.
Unfortunately, her new work schedule means she's not able to oversee Georgie's homework, so she calls on a favour from Anne to help tutor Georgie. Anne's thrilled at the idea of shaping young minds - she's always wanted to be a teacher herself - but it's not as easy as it seems.
Meanwhile, Mal struggles with helping his own son with his maths coursework, and Della and Fi launch their sister restaurant Double Shin.

Boyfriends
After finding out Mal is banging the gym teacher, Amanda is spurred into action on the dating front herself. She accepts a date from Johannes – a property developer from South Africa who now lives in a penthouse in Wapping. He's seen her ‘Senuous' social media page and is keen to meet for a drink.
Meanwhile, things are getting serious between Amanda's daughter Georgie and Anne's son Darius, much to Anne's delight. Felicity seems to have taken a lover of her own, disappearing off for ‘lunches' and buying luxury pyjamas, and Mal is worried that his new girlfriend might be a little too young for him.

Camping
Amanda finds herself out of her comfort zone when Anne organises a camping trip. Amanda's new boyfriend Johannes is a keen camper, so she's forced to dig out her Hunter wellies and tag along – on the proviso that she can hire a camper van. What should be a wholesome weekend away ends up being a nightmare. Amanda realises that the VW Westphalia she's hired doesn't have a toilet. So it's either she uses the communal drop-loos, or she crosses her legs for the entire weekend.
Meanwhile, Johannes rubs Mal up the wrong way, Anne gets hormonal, Fi embraces life under canvas, and Della has to deal with a disaster back at the restaurant.

The Heesas
It's the end-of-season awards do at Hounslow Eagles clubhouse, and Amanda throws herself into the organisation of the prizegiving party. So, it's out with the buckets of Haribo and a keg of beer, and in with the black tie, churros and cocktails. Meanwhile, not only has her new boyfriend Johannes bought her a brand new Range Rover, he also makes her a generous offer – to move into his massive Wapping penthouse. Amanda is presented with a difficult choice. Does she return to her life of high ceilings and 4x4s, or does she fully commit to her SoHa family?
While all this is going down, Georgie and Morten cement their friendship, Mal and Ned take over the decks, and Della has some big news to break to Fi.
