Alaska State Troopers - Season 2

Season 2
Episodes

Spring Break Madness
It's Alaska's version of spring break sans swimsuits: —the 25th annual Arctic Man. Follow troopers as they police the four-day festival that hosts more than 12,000 partygoers. With less than one trooper for every 500 partiers, troopers patrol excessively on the first day to give the impression there are more troopers than there actually are.

Arctic Force
Suicide rates are climbing in native Alaskan communities, and troopers race to save a woman holding a gun to her head. Meanwhile, troopers police the island of Little Diomede, located just over two miles from Russia in the Bering Strait. With temperatures of -40¯ and wind gusts up to 80 mph, catching criminals here is uniquely challenging. Troopers must fly in and land on the ice-covered Bering Strait, apprehend a sex offender, and transport him via snowmobile and plane back to the mainland.

Justice Below Zero
In the Mat-Su Valley, one of Alaska's most crime-ridden areas, all units are on the lookout for a pickup whose driver is in possession of a stolen handgun. But they run into an obstacle when they find him. In the Talkeetna Mountains, pilot Mel Nading and veteran search and rescue expert Scott Horoseck scour terrain in a rescue chopper searching for lost snowmobilers.

Manhunt
It's an all-out manhunt in -33¯ temperatures when troopers scour the streets of Fairbanks in search of a fugitive. Jewelry and other items have been stolen, and now a break-in has been reported, which could be a clue. Three hundred twenty miles south, in a region known for rugged mountains and pristine glaciers, Officer Vic Dillon's on the graveyard shift and is investigating a racially motivated assault.

Shots Fired
During the annual Nome to Golovin snowmobile competition, a 200-mile race across frozen tundra and taiga of western Alaska, high speeds and rugged terrain mean troopers have their hands full. They are called into action when racers are injured in a crash. As many Alaskans are gun owners, tensions between neighbors can quickly elevate, and troopers respond to calls of shots fired.

Armed and Dangerous
Troopers are stretched thin when calls overlap. When a possibly fatal motorcycle accident involving alcohol requires the attention of troopers, they must decide who stays and who responds to a call for domestic violence. Then, troopers head to the most remote and rugged terrains of Alaska's Arctic to check on isolated villages and enforce the state's strict wildlife regulations.

High-Speed Chase
Officers tail a felon for more than 150 miles in a high-speed car chase. With speeds of over 125 mph, high-speed pursuits are one of the most dangerous types of calls, and troopers know the stakes are high. Elsewhere, troopers take to the skies to search for two kayakers who disappeared in dangerous rapids. And summer in Alaska means an increase in both tourism and illegal activity.

Crime Under the Midnight Sun
Alaska State Troopers must keep the peace over the holiday weekend by cracking down on underage drinking, halting disorderly conduct and handling some unusual characters. Then they're off to investigate a moose death in the backwoods and on to the islands of the Aleutian Chain, where crime picks up with the fishing season.

Highway Hijinks
Follow Troopers as they battle crime and enforce wildlife laws from the breathtaking Seward Highway to the Alaskan back country. Stretching 127 miles on the Kenai Peninsula, the Seward Highway is packed with locals and tourists, making it a busy season for Troopers. From traffic stops to fleeing suspects to checking bear bait stations, Alaska State Troopers hunt criminals and keep the peace.

Operation Moose Decoy
Troopers initiate "Operation Moose Decoy" to catch hunters who violate the law. They position a life-size fake moose by a road and bust unsuspecting poachers once they've taken a shot. Meanwhile, a motorcyclist crashes while trying to outrun the law, and officers must contend with the criminal's injuries before arresting him. When officers spot a minivan swerving down the road, they suspect the driver is under the influence and are surprised by what they find.

Anchorage Undercover
Troopers team up with the FBI to confront Anchorage's drug problem- taking down 17 suspects in one night. Across town, a known felon barricades himself inside his house, resulting in a tense standoff for hours. Meanwhile, the search is on for an injured hiker stuck halfway up a treacherous mountain. And troopers patrol Alaska's version of the Everglades in air boats to search for illegal moose hunters.

Vice Squad
Troopers chase down thieves and smugglers, set up prostitution stings with the VICE squad, catch drunk drivers, regulate moose and caribou hunts, and greet Buddy, a famous dog who saved his family from a fire.

Dazed and Confused
Under the midnight sun, troopers engage in a dangerous 90 mph pursuit until they apprehend the "dazed and confused" driver at gunpoint and find illegal drugs in the car. When officers respond to a domestic dispute, they are greeted by a gun-wielding homeowner. And troopers patrol the dangerous Copper River, where powerful currents and steep cliffs sometimes make for a deadly recreational area.
