Years ago, Ben and Semir's boss Anna Engelhardt had an affair with the head of a police academy. Now the past is catching up with her, and the two men's paths cross in dramatic fashion.

When Ben goes to a jewelry store to have his watch repaired, he finds himself in the middle of a robbery with hostages. During the investigation, Semir and Ben realize that a complicated family tragedy is behind the crime.

Highway patrolman Ben unsuspectingly stumbles upon a hostage situation at watchmaker Jörg Bauer's shop. But the supposed robbery turns out to be an old score that the gangster has to settle with Bauer.

By jumping off a bridge, laundromat operator Tarik causes an accident. Ben and Semir discover that the apparent suicide was actually a cold-blooded murder. They track down a gang of protection racketeers.
 

Ben and Semir are shot at in their patrol car. However, the attack was intended for a young VIP hostess. When Ben's great love, prosecutor Saskia Ehrbach, is murdered, the police officers must overcome their first crisis as colleagues.

Ben and Semir suspect that a professional hitman has been hired to kill businessman Kurban Said. After a failed assassination attempt, the police discover that they have apparently been following the wrong lead the entire time.
