Lois Maxwell portrayed "Nancy Williams," a widow and mother living with her two teenagers, Billy and Hanna, in a secluded Lake Huron cove. Maxwell, famous for her role as Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond films, anchored the drama. The series focused on the adventures of Billy and his Ojibway friend Pete in the northern Ontario wilderness. It was a collaborative international effort involving Manitou Productions, CBC, Television Films Ltd. (Britain), and ABC Films (Britain) alongside the Australian Broadcasting Commission.

Not all of the celebrities will make the cut, however; after an opening potluck dinner each mentor selects three recruits to be on her team, leaving one celebrity to be sent home before the competition really begins. Burrell is looking to extend her record to 5-2, while Ray looks to get the win in her first season.
