A Country Life for Half the Price with Kate Humble - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

The Cook Family
The first episode features the Cook family from Exeter, who plan to move to the other end of the country and make a fresh start in the Shetland Islands. They plan to fund their new lifestyle through AirBnB and an isolated space for authors, but their move is complicated by a serious illness in the family.

The Goldby Family
Kate meets the Goldby family from Epsom, where Vicki, Phil and their nine children have outgrown their four-bedroom house - which has only one bathroom. They have found a farmhouse with three bathrooms and scope for seven bedrooms, as well as more than two acres of land.

The Auger-Forbes Family
Kate meets a family from Essex who have bought four acres of woodland in Suffolk to escape the growing development and noise pollution of their Rochford home. They plan to develop bird photography and beekeeping businesses, while a vegetable garden offers the opportunity to become completely self-sufficient.

The MacDonald Dibb Family
The presenter meets a Hemel Hempstead couple starting a new life in a traditional Welsh farmhouse, and plan to make the 31 acres of land that come with the property work for them by building glamping pods and keeping pigs, cows, sheep and chickens. However, before they can even get started, a local case of TB threatens to derail their entire project, and a wet winter and some surprising personal news only add to the obstacles in their path.

The Monaghan Family
Kate meets Georgie and Robin Monaghan, whose life of full-time work and children is taking its toll. They're tired of their bungalow in Worthing, East Sussex and want to bring up three-year-old Ryn and one-year-old Macsen away from the stresses and pollution of the city. They are planning to sell their bungalow, and have their eye on a character-packed detached house in the village of Shebbear in Devon.

The Khalil Family
A couple from Bracknell plan to make a fresh start in Aberdeenshire, after one of them has had open-heart surgery and is seeking a less work-oriented lifestyle. Their new home is a detached property with outbuildings and an acre of land where they intend to keep goats and hens alongside their existing menagerie of rabbits and cats - but with no personal support network in Scotland, things may not be as relaxed as they hope.

Buried in the Backyard
Buried in the Backyard examines true-crime stories of victims found buried in the most unsuspecting of places. Uncovering the remains is only the beginning, however, as each hour-long episode follows a unique police investigation to identify the body, determine a cause of death and find the person responsible. Captivating recreations, along with first-hand accounts from those closest to the victims and law enforcement agents involved in the case, bring each shocking tale to life. As investigators dig into the "how" and "why" surrounding each crime, viewers are taken on an unpredictable journey and reminded that this could happen to anyone - in any home, in any neighborhood.

Good Omens

Except Aziraphale, a somewhat fussy angel, and Crowley, a fast-living demon--both of whom have lived among Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle--are not actually looking forward to the coming war.
And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist...
